UPSSSC: How to Prepare for the Exam

What is UPSSSC?
– UPSSSC is a statutory body of the Government of Rajasthan. It is established under the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (Rajasthan Public Service Commission Act, 2007). – In April 2013, for about 150 vacancies of various civil services, 8,670 applicants had appeared in four days of examinations in all the 7 circles of Rajasthan. – In January 2018, for about 14,000 vacancies of different civil services, 2,000 applicants had appeared in four days of examinations in all the 7 circles of Rajasthan. – By March 2018, for about 10,500 vacancies of various civil services, 6,000 applicants had appeared in four days of examinations in all the 7 circles of Rajasthan.
There will be four stages of examination: preliminary (Prelims), mains, interview, and e-Caste. The format of each stage is different. There are certain rules and regulations that every candidate must observe at each stage, before appearing for any of the stages. Preliminary Examination: At this stage, every applicant will be asked to fill in the online application form. After this stage, we may invite candidates for a qualifying written examination in the month of March and April 2018. Mains Examination: Candidates will be selected for the mains examination based on merit and performance in the preliminary examination. At this stage, mark sheets or certificates will be issued to the successful candidates.
How to prepare for the exam
To crack the UPSSC Preliminary examination, there is a need to be conscious and prepare well before the examination. It’s not just aptitude and knowledge of English, but also a lot of dedication and perseverance. Studies should be combined with some activities that will help you understand your weaknesses. A day in day out the practice of English is recommended. Students are advised to watch English films. Reading newspapers and newspapers also helps you a lot to build a picture of events and trends. A study of academic journals is recommended. Students should also try to spend quality time reading books. It is better to do a good amount of reading every day than not doing any studying at all.
